Hate Storage Stamp by izka197 Hate Storage Stamp by izka197
Seriously, why do you put your art on DA, then storage it so noone can see it?! That's just silly in my opinion.
If you wish noone to see it, make a folder on you PC and put your art there.
I hate when people are using storage, to be honest. And I hate twice, when stamps or tutorials are being stored. What the hell?! How can we use them if we only see that stupid grey thing?! People, think a bit! It's stupid.
I really know that people can do what they wish with their art, but honestly, I don't get the point of storage. it's silly for me. Especially for things like tuts, stamps, and of course all other stuff. bleh.

Feel free to disagree. politely;)

Storage is good for people who are not sure. If you know you do not want it, go ahead and delete it. But storage is useful if the person is indecisive or awaiting further information.

I've been here for a long time and I have tons of crappy old art I don't want anyone to see, but I don't want to delete it either. Storage is a great compromise for when you want it out of your gallery but not gone forever.

Oh, I can't disagree at all with this. I absolutely have it when someone does this, especially after I've faved it. Then this stupid image appears in its place and I have to delete it, because I ain't having this, with the exception of this stamp. Pathetic, really.

I dislike it because its there but you can't see the art making it take space, like why even able to see the icon when there is nothing there why is it seriously not only the owner of the art that can see them...

I can explain why I store art at least. {I don't know about everyone else}.

I will store art if:
:bulletblue: I made an art trade with someone and they never post their half. (Trolling for 'free' art)
:bulletblue: It's old/outdated, but I may still need it at some point.
:bulletblue: If someone, regardless of my asking not to, posts MY art in their gallery/on another website. (It's happened more than you'd think to me, and THAT is more annoying than a 'stored' deviation)

Since I did the art I would like it up, BUT I would NOT like the people to get 'free' art. This way if needed, I can bring it back for the time I need it and remove it after it's over.

I do agree with storing stamps and tutorials, though. Most people when they leave DA will leave their stamps up for people to use.

It almost feel like they are embarrassed or ashamed about their art, so they hide it. I give all art respect regardless what it is.

I agree completely. why would you storage it when you can just delete it. "but I don't want to lose all those favs" or " My art has changed so much" Keep it! If your style has changed a lot, why not keep it and people will say, " they've came very far with their art " and not " Dang it stupid storage, I hate storage" Or " But I wanted to see their old art " and then people will like you more :3 and that is my reason to why never to use storage, your welcome? Sweating a little...

I don't cause it always just makes people mad or sad cause they can't see it. If people say it's bad on one of my old pics i can call them lazy for not even looking at my new pictures. I delete my bad art or art I don't care for only when I really have to. I think I've only ever deleted my bad bases.

If people are stealing my art, or not paying for them, I WILL store them until they do or leave. I don't really CARE if they get mad/sad the image is deleted if they didn't do their part of the deal.

Other than that I don't store or delete.

You didn't read my comment - storing goes to people who try to scam me out for free art (this has happened recently).
As long as you PAID your end for the art I won't store it.  If you don't do your end of the trade or payment I will store the art I did until your end is paid. {Hence storing rather than deleting}

I will go after the people who stole it, but I will leave it up for proof for the DA staff to see.

I agree that it can be quite annoying, but there are often times when crap happens (i;e mass artwork theft, esp. in the case of closed species) and storage can be pretty useful. After everything is smoothed over, though, the artwork can be brought back easily, even if you've deleted the file. I can definitely see what you mean, though; especially with the stamps.

I think storage is lines good because let's say it's a drawing you like, but the artist deletes it. It isn't likely you'll see it again. However, in storage you can at least bring it back if you wanted to.

It especially gets annoying when a handful of deviations in your favorites end up "in storage" and you end up having to search through all of your favorites to find and remove the "in storage" deviations. Especially if they happen to be "unlisted" favorites, favorites that are not in any folders you may have and are not "featured" meaning you have to click on "all" to find it. And it gets even worse when you have hundreds upon hundreds of favorites.

Especially when you run a dA group (I run two), you're going through your group's gallery and you see all those "In Storage" thumbnails. I remove them without warning (the only warning I give about it is in my group rules).
